Councilmember Lee joined the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services to kick off the next phase of the city's Urban Cooling Program which adds cool pavement and shade trees throughout neighborhoods in LA in an effort to reduce urban heat. This cooling pavement, in combination with the planting of new trees, will provide more refuge for residents and help keep streets a few degrees cooler, which makes a world of difference here in the San Fernando Valley.

Council District 12 will have 22 blocks upgraded with these amenities including neighborhoods in North Hills and Chatsworth.
